"Come With Me," Said Mom

Updated on May 10, 2015

Moms are FOREVER!

On my computer screen after midnight - 2 AM.

(TYPING)

I look up and take a deep breath, keep staring on the ceiling, as I focus on my screen I see the main title. Why did I choose this "come with me said mom" title?

As writers we owe it to our readers our perseverance in improving our style. We know they want to read something interesting that could make a difference in their lives. Seems like tonight was the night. Most times Inspiration clicks in, voices and words come together to get another article done.

(The typing echoes the need to write -- deep views and images come quickly)

A millisecond of complete silence -- suddenly --

An invincible, almost amorphous, hand comes from within the screen and pulls us in -- in slow motion. We try to fight it, but give in...

The words and the hints from so many...

We felt like we were chosen to write this very piece. Now is the time to focus on the main idea: The reason for us to be here tonight, becoming masters of our own free mind to... create at will. The voices are definitely catching up with our creativity.

The final sentence is laid like a brick with insightful meanings. Why are we doing this? The only incentive is our passion for writing and a few dollars from AdSense. But tonight we feel like we need to express... and pour our hearts into a new story. We all have feelings and... we have guts to write with a unique and different angle. This is so awesome... we cannot even believe what we are writing in front of our eyes.

That tunnel beyond the threshold

We feel like we are embraced by warm hands so huddle close. Voices echoing away tumbling against my own self... my mind starts, sort of, channelizing unexplainable sounds that turn into voices...

So many requests -- in rapid sequence:

"His name is Albert, tell him I'm fine. Just give him this sign..."

"Her name is Janette. Please tell her we will be together one day"

"His name is Nino. Tell him I will come back tonight... shooting star... falling from North..."

"Her name is Gardenia. Tell her I made it safe. Mom will watch over her..."

"Her name is _____, tell her I love her so much...!"

"His name is ______, just tell him that he will be with me one day...!"

A celestial screen is in front. We are already witnessing events that settle with our five senses...

This is Robert - Seven years old.

This handsome little boy is praying tonight for her mom, who passed away when he was just 3 months old. His dad just crack opened his bedroom door to check on him as a normal routine. "After you are done praying Bobby, would you please, turn off the light, son? Dad has to go to work early..." said Robert Senior.

Robert Junior finishes his prayer and goes straight to bed.

A dream or a sign?

Finally he is gone. He watches in awe a delightful scenery: his mother Patricia is waiting for him seated on the edge of an old well. She makes an inviting sign to join her. She offers him to drink from a transparent and golden glass. "Is that you mom..?" asks Bobby.

"Sure Bobby, come closer, son."

"I've missed you mom! Did you come to take me with you?"

"Not yet son. I wish I could've taught you more skills for your lifetime, and keep you going..."

"Dad has been missing you too, mom... did you know that?"

"Me too dear son. There is a reason for my early departure... Just trust me sweet son!.. and tie those shoes..."

The vision of his mom fades away. Bobby wakes up in tears. He grabs the pillow that grandma gave him for his own baby shower and falls sleep again. Mom comes once again as a guardian angel in disguise, and covers his sweet face. Bobby smiles and sucks his thumb.

From Mothers that left things undone

"...We are departed but still willing to love and give,

we are out there looking out for you

Seeing our own kids becoming the best of their kind

Sending the message from above... to the ones left behind..."

Michelle, Six years old...

On the other side of the country is Michelle, six years old, who is already finishing first grade this very next June. She lost her mommy to a rare sickness when she was almost two years old. We managed to see her daddy putting her down on her pink bed, with utmost tenderness.

Minutes before, he was rocking his precious thing on his chest (like mom did) to a melody out of 'Snow White.'

She always wanted dad to put her to sleep that way. Michelle seemed to be part of this evolving dream. This time, on a 'never ending story' of her own, she finds herself on the edge of a coast line seashore... Far on the distance, she notices a woman; is her mom Kim who starts running to little Michelle with the sweetest smile.

When they get closer, Kim rises her daughter up and gives her the biggest hug!

"My sweet thing, why are you crying?"

"Mom, why did you leave dad and me, behind?"

"It was not my decision dear. Touch my heart now. Feel it? I gave you life and let your little throbbing heart beat become as one... with mine."

"I'm scare mom!"

"The answer is in your eyes

that looks just like mine, sweet gorgeous thing..!"

The visions, arrange again into written words...

There is a reason for everything, and we did manage to write them down!

Done. I wipe my own tears after being able to write something that I had inside -- Or maybe I was the medium for some answers. I have to wipe the sweat from my own face. Just when I was about to turn off my lap top... I get taken again into this multidimensional world.

The light is waiting again... what is really there for me? I will find out...

Is this the end of the story?
