Half a Century with no doubt
this is the life what we were talking about
Half a life enjoyed, and well lived
sinking down these phrases with a certain peace
Going back in time half a century at a time
touching and grasping parts of our own lives
1962, when that 'bay of pigs' struck
The same year that our eyes saw this world
1912, April 14; Titanic went down with our hopes
unsinkable pride, that once swelled in our hearts
Feeling young as though we always had time
feeling free of worries that later will be instilled in our mind
1862, Civil war and scars from the South
never learning from History and killing our own selves
half a century at a time
going back, forward and behind
1812 and old Glory against Britain
Napoleon entering Moscow and freezing in vain
Still wondering if politics bring up rivals
Armadas and Corsairs closing that loop cycle
1762, Rousseau and his 'Social Contract'
Emilie, Madame de Houdetot, De Warens and all that
What a coincidence! Jean Jacques was born in 1712
No wonder, he is like a brother or a friend with no end
Getting lost in time I see why we get wiser as we go
Dates, numbers, memories of past loves
The reason for us to be around
makes sense when we finally get found
1662, 1612, caressing and smelling the essence of those times
1562, 1512 Wars and discoveries that changed our lives
Amazing how men shaped up the world
infatuating, how love really governed our hearts
Universe in each one of us
created as equal until see changes as a must
Uncertainty of a never ending journey with joy galore
Having faith as we kneel down praising the one above
Looking at the stars that my great grand father looked in awe
Watching my sons being born and behaving as close to my soul
half a century means a lot after all
Fifty three years tenfold
as our heart gets
closer to the maker of all...!
Fifty three years well lived
learning to give more than what we really need
encrypted fears that faded away
as long as we know how to find happiness out of this maze
Fifty three years and writing with no end
exciting times to share with our friends
that took that short Journey with us
Fifty three years... and this moment really went outrageously fast...!
