I HEAR THAT CRY...
66This piece of creativity was written past midnight and was there for grabs. How do we come with the words, some might ask. I think is a combination of genetics, inspiration and maybe Angels around us. Probably Muses guiding our hands to stamp the right words. Why genetics? My Father was a Poet and a great reader. Inspiration is always around us; experiences come at hand and pictures show themselves sequentially.
I HEAR THAT CRY
Lord have wonderful friends and at times they share their pain and trust their lives with him. From the elderly to the young boy or girl. This poem synthesize part of that cry..a cry for our understanding, that can be demanding, and at times rewarding. There is a thin line between friendship and love, and we forget sometimes, when we already crossed that line This piece of poetry was written in just past 20 minutes and came to us as we heard the song... Hopefully will reach to our wonderful friends and fill that void, that emptiness that stays within and, why not! Share our hopes with them.
Ladies and gentlemen... here is our final say:
Please, listen to this song... as you read, thanks!
This piece is laid down as a reminder of our need of someone special in our lives. The cry can be heard only by the chosen one. The one that makes our heart beat really...really hard...!
Beginning with a soft candle light
next to your bedside
I visualize your deep cry
that is silenced on a pillow
during a lonely night
I call to check on you
and you just say that you are okay
but I hear a voice that is not the same
would die if I ever see you go insane
You try to avoid going into details
but deep inside I know the reason of that pain
you just answer that you missed me
but I caught up with you
absorved in your own personal issues
I want to open my heart...,
but you raise your voice and give me no time
' want to tell you so many things and...'
but, you just tell me you have so much in your mind
About to say good night
but you tell me to stay on the line
I guess I will have to listen this time I say
She just won't let 'him' go away!
I knew it was about this stupid guy
who took her soul and her life
All she see in me is a friend
with a heart... and 'love with no end'
but she doesn't think is fair...
but I'm stuck with her.
She wants to break loose
from the bondage that caused her harm
she wanted me to reach out to her
as soon as I could
Thirty minutes later I knock on her door
she is on the living room
and I hear her crying with some remorse
looking at me she tries to cover her tears
Breaking my heart as I feel her so near
"Can't let him go, I can't"
I say, 'there we go again Sam!'
she did this to me so many times
that it would be insane just... to enter her mind
I hold her hand and we embrace
but she pronounces his name
and I feel ashamed
feel like leaving the scene
but stay seated next to her
I give her a teddy bear
'from your very good friend,' I say
she wanted to kiss me bunches
but refrains and says, 'Thanks Charlie'
I go straight to the point
and she still feels that void
I tell her to move on
not really healthy to stay on
Suddenly she cries non stop
and let me clean her tears
Miraculously she hugs me
and reacts to the beat of my heart
'Why is beating so hard?'
I lie, blaming it on a candy bar
We dance a little of a sweet soft song...
she smiles as she looks in my eyes
hugging me hard, she asks finally to
help her drink together this wine
I say, 'what the heck, I think is fine...'
twenty minutes later
we are in a different world
she enjoys my jokes and laughter galore
We swing around a beat and
end up again on the couch
finally, she gives in and... kisses me
again and again
'Please, we are just friends,' I say
do you really believe what you said?
not really, not anymore...
She stands up and walks me to her dorm
I refuse and she insists with candid joy
we kiss each other like never before
I say, 'let's give each one more time,
Sex cannot be the answer to a sudden
state of mind
You rest tonight and...'
I truly cover her body and face
I kiss her goodnight and say to myself:
"tomorrow, definitely you will be...mine!"

Thats awesome. It really describes a situation I have seen people in so many times. Great job.
How beautiful! As always written from the heart. God has a way with placing a pen in hand and giving you the words to embrace so many. I also love the pic! That is someone special. You never know which direction God will take you so hold on with unshakable courage and faith. :)
Very sweet from you lord so happiely voted up.
Another beautiful piece.Thank you..
i love this narrative poetry...patience is a virtue...
ldc,
I have mixed emotions about this one. It's beautifully written, to be sure. However, I really want to have five minues alone with the guy "friend" and advise him to look out for the girl's "boyfriend", the one who likes to make her cry, and the one she must enjoy making her cry.
I hope he gets the word, and hangs on to his heart until the female object of his desire has gotten her own heart ready to be loved. :)
Lord
How Beautiful I just loved the last three lines not to mention the entire piece of art. Oh I really do wish you good luck in the contest
Thank you for bringing this to us
Kimberly
Ohhhh my goodness, lol! LOL!! That was EXCELLENT dialogue!!!
deCross - you are too cute with the pen and you've put a beaming grin on my face!
If you run short on napkins, let me know. The post office is only a few blocks away and I'll be happy to mail you more.
You get an "A" for determination! :)
I was listening to jazz music while reading it. I have one thing to say... amazing! I absolutely love the last line.
Any girl would be fortunate indeed to have a best friend like this one did, but she's much too busy feeling sorry for herself to notice his love for her. I hope he gets the girl in the next poem, and I hope this time she will appreciate him. I voted this one UP, etc. (Hope the judges will, too). I love following a poet like you!
Beautiful, Lord. A true gentleman being true to a real friendship that looks like in time, when the lady is ready, could lead to a really deep love--based on friendship. It happens. And you portray it beautifully. Voted up, beautiful, awesome, and interesting. I always like the Rick Astley song, too. Great entry into the contest!
My Poetic friend, some of the deepest feeling poems come from our souls in the wee hours of the night and mornings fresh dew. You did a brilliant job with this scribe, it was felt intensely. Their is no better feeling than honest and loving friendship that is lasting. Well done, Bravo.
@Lord de Cross: I read your piece and listened to the music of the video accompaniment that you chose, friend. At 60 I closed my eyes, travelled back to those times and remembering, relived my own encounters such as this.
There were some heart rending, soul searching, gut wrenching periods that still remained as vivid reminders of the price of love that one pays if it is real!
My advice to anyone in that scenario, Lord de Cross, Be Very sure it is REAL! In the heat of the moment, it's too easy to hear only your own heart and read into the other actions what you want to see.
You are wise to wait and allow her to reassess her own position before both of you rush in too soon! The heart does mend from infatuation because real love cures all!
Well written! Voted Up and Pushed only the buttons that I felt mattered. Regards Mike (Aka Professor M!) ;D
wow you are really on top of your game... you got better! I know hard to believe it right? But you did
Beautiful. I had an amazing male friend by my side when I was going through the pain of separation and divorce. He listened to me vent and cry and vent and cry some more. He never tried to be more than a friend during that time. Today he is my fiance but first and foremost his is my best friend. This made me smile.
lord de cross - this poem makes me think of myself and the love I have for one who I cannot approach, for he is not mine. I have always followed my heart, though, and I find it has brought me joy and peace.
You have imparted the heartache of both in this poem. I so know what it is like to "be just a friend who longs for more". The emotions I sense in this poem are so strong. Very well done!
UP and Beautiful
Thanks for the great post..

Beutiful, so vivid story written in a poem. In my mind reading it feels like dancing - there are certain figures you go through to get to the big final... almost. Thumbs Up!
