I Hear That Cry-- A Poem from the Heart

Updated on May 11, 2016

This piece of inspiration was written past midnight...and was there for grabs. How do we come with the words, some might ask? I think is a combination of genetics, insightful feelings, coffee and maybe angels around us.

Probably those so called muses guiding our hands to stamp the right words in micro tera-bytes. Why genetics? My father was a Poet and a great reader, that is a sound fact. Peace of mind and intoxicating mental stimulation is always around us; experiences come at hand, and vivid pics show themselves on and around us, ready to palpitate within our own selves.

I HEAR THAT CRY

We have wonderful friends and at times they share their pain, and trust their lives with our persona. From the elderly to the young boy or girl. This poem synthesizes part of that cry -- a cry for our understanding, that can be demanding... and at times rewarding.

There is a thin line between friendship and love, and we forget sometimes, when we already have crossed that thin ... and pleasurable line This piece of poetry was written in just, huh, 20 minutes... and came to us as we started playing this song. Hopefully it will reach out to our wonderful friends.

Ladies and gentlemen... here we have it... (you have it)

Please, listen to this song... as you read, thanks!

This piece is laid down as a reminder of our need of someone special in our lives. The cry can be heard only by the chosen one. The one that makes our heart beat really...really hard...!

Beginning with a soft candlelight

next to your bedside

I visualize your deep cry

that is silenced on a pillow

during a lonely night

I call to check on you

and you just say that you are okay

but I hear a voice that is not the same

I would die if I ever see you go insane...

You try to avoid going into details

but deep inside I know the reason of that pain

you just answer that you missed me

but I caught up with you

absorbed in your own personal issues

I want to open my heart...

but, you raise your voice and give me no time

"want to tell you so many things and..."

but, you just tell me that "you have so much in your mind"

Right when I want to say good night

you tell me to stay on the line

I guess I will have to listen this time I say

She just won't let 'him' go away!

I knew it was about this stupid piece of...!

who took her soul and her life

All she see in me is a friend

with a heart... and "love with no end"

but she doesn't think is fair...

Does she?? I'm stuck with her.

She wants to break loose

from the bondage that caused her harm

she wanted me to reach out to her

as soon as I could

Thirty minutes later I knock on her door

she is on the living room

and I hear her crying with some remorse

looking at me she tries to cover her tears

Breaking my heart as I touch her hair

"Can't let him go, I can't!!"

I say, 'there we go again Sam!'

she did this to me so many times

it would be insane.. to enter her mind

I hold her hands and we embrace

but she pronounces his name

and I feel ashamed

feel like leaving the scene

but stay seated next to her

I give her a teddy bear

'from your very good friend,' I say

she wanted to kiss me bunches

but refrains by mumbling, "...thanks Charlie!"

I go straight to the point

and she still feels that void

I tell her to move on

"not really healthy to stay on!!"

Suddenly she cries non stop

and let me clean her tears

unexpectedly, she hugs me

and sense the beat of my heart

"Why is beating so hard?" she asks

I lie, blaming it on a candy bar

We dance to a sweet soft song...

she smiles and looks into my eyes

hugging me hard, she asks finally to

help her drink this wine, already late at night...

I say, "what the heck, I think is fine..."

twenty minutes later

we are in a different world

she enjoys my jokes and laughter galore

We swing around a beat and

end up again on the couch

finally, she gives in and... kisses me

again and again

"Please Sam, we are just friends," I say

"do you really believe what you said?"

"not really, not anymore..."

She stands up and walks me to her dorm

I refuse and... and she insists with that candid joy

we kiss each other like never before

I say, "let's give each other one more time,

Sex cannot be the answer to a sudden

state of mind"

"You rest tonight and..."

I truly cover her body softly and caress her face

I kiss her goodnight and say to myself:

"tomorrow, definitely you will be mine!"
