Maria Jordan (AKA Marcoujor) -- Beyond The Words, We Found Her Soul...!
Is hard to start a hub dedicated to a dear friend. Our Community gets stronger and hubs about Hubbers are the way to pulse those feelings. When we joined HubPages, we never knew it was going to be so rewarding for us... and for our beloved friends.
This is no exception: Maria Jordan Got hold of us after those March 30/30. Lately (June 5) we gave her an interview, and... she really caught with us. We were bold enough to express ourselves with no boundaries. She was patient and caring when we added ideas or videos for our interview. We felt her heart of Gold, and we decided to jump into the ring and ask her for another informal interview. If you happen to read her comments, Maria gives her all; you can finish reading all her comments with a smile and a contagious... and positive mind.
Follow Maria on her Raining Men Interviews
- It's Raining Men; in HubVille marcoujor - Style!
The experience of interviewing some of the best male writers on HubPages is both an honor and a luxury. Each of the men in this series has taught me something special that I, in turn, would like to share with my readers. I will serve as the humble sc
With no more introduction here she is... A survivor to our Interview!
Not in particular order dear friend..just rambling thoughts...but we
are funny, so here it goes to you. Take your time dear!
Is August 5th 2013... and you and Martie Coetser won best dynamic duo of an award category from HubPages.... "I would like to thank the Academy..."
... For recognizing two Sistas who know what it's like to walk around the block... OK, LORD, please stop laughing (she can read our minds?) a few times, and still look fresh as a daisy. {Young man, please turn down that orchestra music...} Now my Sista is 'sassy' but sultry with the soapies; the poetry that gets some of you gents heading for the shower and her thought provoking essays. {Oh no this music is not coming back, Sista, I am gonna....} And, hello, yes, I am prissy but good natured as I interview the very finest (akin to Barbara Walters, so I heard) and develop a strand of Pearls with all the wisdom I have learned in my beautiful chain of friendship. {Dang, Sista, we might as well sing... they're pushin' us off the stage...!}
Okay...now time for our Sponsors Ladies and Gentlemen..!
Talking about music... hmm, do you prefer Country, Rock or those 80's? (Take
your time and make it fun)
LORD, to take my time I would have to say... Y E S...!
I'm a little bit country...
Tell us about it..!!
I'm a little bit rock and roll...
Who did you...?
And, wow, there ain't nothin' like the music of the 80's...(please close your eyes and listen if his make-up bugs you...!) -- We did Love it!!
- The Magic of Country
After Mom's death in May, 2010, the sounds of country music brought me more solace than anything else. One of my musical treasures is a box of her favorite CDs. Mom preferred classic, hillbilly music as she always called it.
We never told her, but we were dancing to those songs!
Darn it Maria, you took us to 1987. Changing from music to some cliche questions (So they say) How did you learn about HubPages?
Nothing romantic, I'm afraid ...(LOL) I'm an avid job searcher, am now always referring students and friends to sites or jobs I see. Over a year ago, I saw HubPages was under "consultant", looked into it... voila...!
Same like for us. We suspect Jason Menayan knows about this promotional ballgame. What would you say to your mom at this very second. She is next to
us, smiling... seeing young Maria all grown up..!
LORD, I talk to Mom a little every day (some days more than others). She will always be the wisest woman I have ever known. (Where is the darn Kleenex?) "Thanks, Mom, for giving me so much more strength than I ever realized. People sure lean on me at times like... I know I leaned on you. I'm even starting to take care of myself a little and not worry as much. I know you are so happy to see Kylie and the other little ones growing so beautifully. I feel as though they are your legacy. Not a day goes by, Mom... and I'm not sure if that will ever change. PS-- Continue to send any advice you can... especially about your fudge recipe!"
Maria, you tore us up with these answers (Paused 2 minutes) We need to come to terms with our own thoughts. Your best Hub would be...?
- Appreciating the Gift of Life - After Survival
Ever since June 1999, no matter what the day may bring, gratitude is the way that I start off each and every day of my life, and always will be.
... and your best partner in crime..?
It's a no brainier that a certain South African Sista, Martie Coetser, and I are a pretty outrageous combination around here on Hubville...! So, do we get joint custody of that little statue, LORD...?
We already answered to that question in our Heart Maria! Yes!
Red? Blue? pink?
Oh wow, do I love COLORS... I love them all
RED- sparingly, for accent (least)
BLUE- LOVE all things blue, so peaceful dontcha think? (favorite of the three)
PINK- I definitely appreciate pink, LOVED it as a little girl, now it's lovely in moderation
GREEN-- LOVE LOVE... and when combined with BLUE, woo-ho!! (We lost it in Translation)
- Poetry: The Cats and Dogs Who Shared Our Journey
These have been the most beautiful fur babies ever in the entire land in this Mother's eye! We thank each of them for the fun, the personalities, the lessons learned and the unconditional love!
Introducing your adorable animals..? (names, who watch them when
you are gone..?)
LORD, how I love my fur babies. The following hub was a very early piece of writing on HubPages that introduces some of the jewel's in my life's treasure box.
Currently Aunt Baby, recently having had her 8th birthday, is the Queen of the house. Only her Aunt (Car51 on HP) and a wonderful neighbor, ER, are trusted to look in on "Baby"... she is just way too kewl, you know?
Any fun question, or anecdote from a student, or a class? We can tell you from experience so...?
Yikes (twice), I could write a hub, LORD. Nurses are downright hysterical, as well as most every other fabulous emotion in my classroom setting... and in general! Just last evening I had a student do a presentation on deep muscle massage (Holistic class). She was so interactive... dividing the class of (10) into two teams. I was the 'Vanna White' as she did a Q & A related to the content she had taught with 21 questions. The joy and laughter (actually kinda cutthroat, but wow, these nurses are smart!) was infectious... there was a one point difference.
A few lucky winners got hand massages... and more will come (as promised by this kind student). Another class was to bring in a healing ritual and a student brought in her dog, 2-year old, ZIGGY... this pooch was better behaved than most students. He greeted everyone very politely and gave his paw to his Mommy whenever she participated in class.
It was honestly one of the coolest classes I ever taught in my life and you can believe I incorporated Ziggy (even sang a little Dave Bowie, LORD). Imagine my 'Lady GAGA' surprise when I was gently corrected that Ziggy was named after 'Marley'... Hey mom, how would I know that? OK, lemme stop, I'm starting to sound like Mickey ... and that is kinda scary, yet oddly surreal.
Not so cliche now...!
If you were left on an Island by yourself and you were allowed to
choose a couple, a male and a female friend, who would they be?
Oh LORD, this is one I will over analyze... (you just shake your head, please! It's in my blood!) Now this is bound to be some pretty tight quarters and you did say "friend", so whew... I will eliminate family without hurting feelings. Doesn't seem like the friends have to know each other but they need to be "my friends", so I will work on that premise... OK, now marcoujor needs a lotta space, yet she loves to be adventurous with her walks, likes to talk about most anything and hang out watching nature with gentle people of the same inclination. I have a few friends (both genders) that share my tendencies, yet only two would appreciate the solitude of the island... K and M, you know who you are.
That was puzzling, Pull-eazee!! Any secret talent Dear?
I am a logic problem nerd. I can kick most people's booties in a rather competitive game of Scrabble. I can "belch talk" better than any man I know (Momma forgive me, but I still don't spit, yuck!) --"Trigonometrically" we got lost within her fundamentalist sense of humor
Do you believe in miracles? (Without even knowing ourselves about the incident that changed her life back in 99)
Without a shadow of a doubt, I believe in miracles. It is a miracle I am alive and life could not be more of a gift as a result.
Worst and best moment in your life..?
The WORST: when it was my Mom's time to die on May 7th, 2010 when I discovered this information and was not there to have done the impossible. The BEST: when it was God's will that I live on June 18th, 1999, when I looked up at the sky, breathed and appreciated my freedom.
And we could never leave without asking... What music video really defines you...?
