OUR VETERANS FROM IRAQ
69
I was having a conversation with my son and how the War was going overseas. Things came up and decided to investigate. The War in Iraq is supposedly over but what is going to happen with the average kid that is coming home and will join our..or his/her normal life. Take a look on this video:
Scott Olsen UnAmerican?...
Two weeks before Christmas I was commenting on Mary615's hub about our young generations, and we told her things that..the next day we felt bad for telling her like it was regarding our Youth and she said, "since I have a wider scope on International affairs, why not write on the subject." Besides I have a son in the Air Force and my 18 years old will join soon.
WHAT IS HAPPENING AS WE SPEAK?
The average young soldier is coming home to join his/ her family, but, whoever thought it was or will be easy to join the work force...think about it. These young generations with all that energy and free time will do something instead of just checking those SEO for his/ her latest app.
My kid is about to get a degree in Electrical Engineering and he said, he is not coming home and will stay where he is(Germany). I don't blame him. He has the drive, the discipline and he doesn't or could not bear the fact that coming back to a civilian life would mean the end of his Career.
Let's see what is happening in Mexico:
The drugs Cartel have ended a truce to spread its bloody war..to the Capital of this Country. These Cartels are getting so out of hand, that we think, we believe that ..God forbid, will entice and eventually recruit these unemployed Ex soldiers that were neglected and are being neglected a decent living. I have been in Colombia several times and have seen how they have a civil war of their own, but take a look to what the Cartels are all about:
You are about to be sent on you 9th deployment...
You have a wife and a family. Deployment either is voluntary or arranged for people like you. Good record, stunning profile and besides who wants to get the masses' opposition to recruit new soldiers? You knew you have seen a lot. Deppresion pills have taken a toll on your brain and we blame the Pharmaceutical industry for carrying on the game set by the armament dealers and their lobyists in DC. You have a young wife and they want a nicer future, but in the process, you have changed and...you don't to want to tell much of your last 8 deployments, and one morning..that brain glitch tells you this simple thing: Pull the trigger...we are out of here!! Everybody scattered!!
THE PSYCHOLOGY OF A VETERAN
We all agree that these Young army soldiers come with a load. Post traumatic disorders and lots of mental problems. But what about the young generations that either were cheated on, while on tour, and the ones that came back home single. We can see that euphoria from within those eyes. Most young girls will catch up with that and will love that energy. Remember, they were trained to be on the front end, like a Tiger...and women still love that analogy. Think again, if you young woman are going to date this strong guy that will protect you from that 'loser' that was bothering you...told you, think again. I advice you to take your time and analyze his behavior. You can ask questions to his/her mom. Unfortunately the rate of domestic violence will increase due to those bad steps.
THE SUM OF ALL FEARS, A POSSIBLE AMERICAN REVOLUTION.
As we said, and we do not go around the bush. If these young kids like Scot Olsen don't find an outlet, we expect to see a Veteran... with probably a nice profile for a leader to take their cause and joint the 99%. We don't want nothing against our Country, but If these free minds think is their time, they will bring Cairo, Tripoli and Beijing to our 'Wall streets'

Carlos Arredondo, of Boston, lost his son Alexander, 20, in Iraq in 2004. He suffered another devastating blow just before Christmas when Brian, 24, killed himself, having never come to terms with his brother's death.

Scary thoughts.. but they certainly need to be addressed and not ignored.
We want peace and not war!! At least that's how I feel. I can't imagine being the parent of a son/daughter in the military. I would be a wreck. Thanks for sharing this information Lord.
We certainly would be ignorant if we thought they would all come back and do a conga line down every main street in the U.S. Thanks for reminding us of how important it is to be there for them and to do the best to help and understand them or at least hold their hand for as long as they feel it is necessatry. I'm glad your son has taken the reins in his hands and knows what he wants. I have him in my prayers as I said I would and I wish you and your family a peaceful and wonderful New Year!
Wow, all of this is food for thought, and a bit overwhelming. I am glad you shared this and the videos. The stories are sad and touching. I am so sorry to the woman whose husband killed himself, that is so sad. I hope that things get better for veterans, and that Americans and the world wakes up so less life needs to be lost. I am so thankful for veterans always, but honestly don't realize the amazing things they have to endure even after back home.
Lord, I believe we MUST keep on mentioning these kind of issues... keep on reminding new generations of the disastrous consequences of evil actions like war. I do believe in self-protection, but not on attacking for any reason. So you don't need to be apologized, but to be complimented because you've taken the time to write this to cause awareness. My empathy and sympathy are with all people who suffers war in any way. Again, voted up and thought-provoking.

Dear Lord, I have nothing positive to say about wars and the custom rights of rulers to turn young men into human weapons. But I can still leave a comment, because I can positively say that this is an excellent hub about a serious social issue. The seed that was sown - the war in Iraq - will be fruit for the next forty years if not longer. Voted up and insightful.
