It really takes two to tango.

The last verse does confuse. It gives a senselessness to the lovely previous verses. If the poet(s) stresses in the last verse that the grief caused by the departure is not complicated by regrets, but purified by good memories to be cherished, the poem will have a profound meaning.

Nevertheless, this is a thought-provoking poem to ponder.
