The making of 'Silence, the answer from grandpa'
If you read the story, then you already voted on the hub. Is this real? How powerful it is?
We as creative writers owe to our readers so much! regarding our hubs. We truly know that we are read by lots of fans and friends... and also new readers... And we always do our best in delivering these so called 'hubs'.
The story started with pictures that we took to his little ornament that was found in our 'Christmas decorations box'.
We had the pics, but we wanted to make a story, How about Christmas Churches? No!! Most hubber would come with that easily.
Then Like a miracle or inspiration, we said to ourselves, Why don't we search on the Internet' kids hidden in churches during World war II. Then to our surprise we started reading about Holocaust and How priests from the Catholic Churches from al over Europe hid these poor little souls from the rounding of the Nazi Gestapo. We were so shocked by the acts committed by this Party elected in 1933. The name struck us immediately, Father Bruno.
Ordained in Louvain, Belgium in early 1920's. He learned of the atrocities committed by the Nazis, that were loading Full cargo wagons of Jewish families out of Antwerp and Brussels straight to Auschwitz. Belgium was a Haven for our friends the Jews since early A.D.60, When Roman troops took over Gaulle. To make things short. Dom. Bruno, risked his life and others, just to save these kids. He paid for their education and shelter on Boarding schools from 1942 until way beyond the end of the war. Here are a few of the kids saved by him. You can see the admiration and the joy...just to be around him. I mean, a real Superman with his own glasses and suit.
This Father was the predecessor of a big Brother. Can you imagine saving 200 kids out of ten of thousands that never made it like Ann Frank? They grew and they never forgot Dom. Bruno, and when the State of Israel was founded in 1947, these kids became professionals and people of value. I was really touched by his Charisma and his soul. Here are the grown up kids in 1979. Father Bruno did save over 380 persons including adults:
The research was done until 1 a.m. and we were tired... and went to bed. About 9a.m. Sunday 27th, we woke up and started putting together our story. Characters were coming to us and all of them added their own style, and the reading about this Hero helped us a lot. We ended up in tears as we finished our hub...and the dragging was a real one, but made by another cleric priest from Italy. We can tell that the story is about 80% close to what really happened. We couldn't stop writing about the story and there..we had it finally for our fellow readers.
Want to finish with a few word from Ann Frank, " Wish was free to make it to Hollywood. It was my dream and Father Otto, I wanted to smile like Rita Hayworth... but when my diary ended on august 1st 1944. I was getting ready to smile for the Lord"
