Through the Lens And a Mind- A Poem
Through the lens of my human senses
I began to write these words with no offenses
Though never know how is going to end
I just want to express some feelings for our friends
Through the lens of this Minolta from the past
I can remember instant shots from my Polaroid that faded so fast
even though, my black and white photos are still with me
Through the lenses of my macro Pentax and such
I captured that moment when mother came back from service mass
Through the lens of my grandfathers savvy eyes
I was able to delve into his past late at night
scars of wars that hunted the innocent until their last days
Through Kodak and Fuji's colorful little boxes
I was able to invent a world of of yellow, green and "elky" mooses
35mm, Instamatic, 36 exposures, "vintage" numbers from the past
coming in arrays of cartridges that mentioned ISO, DIN and such
through the lens of my imagination I can go back to that dark room
come out inspired with tales of Halloween and such gloom
Through formulas for a fixer, developer adding silver screens
I was becoming aware of the complex world in sequential scenes
Through the eyes of a photographer from times long gone
I captured time, space and emotions from that roller coaster of love,
life and the biggest gift from up above: a mind of our own
