Why Women Are So Catty?
It is what it is...
How can we explain this? We will give it a try!
This would be the counterpart of 'boys will be boys' sort of..!
Honestly it would be hard to explain on this very complex subject, but this is our thought on the matter -- we are so bold!.
Women tend to speak more than us males. We have that one clear. Just think of those vocal chords that were set to a sharper level than ours, the 'homo-erectus-non-sapient.'
From the time we started to leave our caves for hunting and fishing, sisterhood of 'survival' was already in the making. A Paleolithic approach to "wait honey, Sarah and I are going to the bathroom to update some matters."
Women were supposed to behave and accept their roles as mothers, wives and important partners. However, why did they have to settle for trendy fashions like that overrated skirts? Why not those slacks or pants? Well, if you were Oscar Wilde, probably you could've gotten away with it, but not so easy if you, let's say, were a 13 years old born to an Amish family in Ole Lancaster Pennsylvania.
The Mall Syndrome
When our ladies and their female friends, walk through the mall, they exchange words like: "No she didn't!! You've seen that bitch wearing a mini-skirt with no under wear?" to the, "Who she think she is?" Women were prone to look around and express themselves with no reserves.
It is something close to having ultra x-ray vision for all. "Oh my...that was Charlie, going out with another woman. Let me take a picture with my cell. Finally I can show Paula that she was so wrong for not believing in me. I knew it! I EF-ing knew it!!"
Not of your business!!
If a girlfriend of yours is at that bathroom next to you and checks your 'Vera Wang' dressing and even plays with your blouse, jewelry, jackets... then that 'Sisterhood approach' will be rolled out on a red carpet.
But, let someone come in the bathroom, and give an honest opinion on your makeup, or just dare to criticize a non matching color from head to toe; most likely they will look at her like... 'are you talking to me?' or, "Why don't YOU mind your own business."
How about, "If you're not going to say something nice, then do not!...repeat, do not say anything at all!! Sarah, please, you better tell this lady to leave us alone. You know me well child! Save her life and tell her to leave us alone." Moral: sisterhood is just for 'BFFs'.
.
From sharing to gossiping and back to sharing...
Ever seen your little sister and her 'BFF' exchanging information, and shut up automatically, until they make sure you leave their room? If mom and your aunt did it, then it comes naturally.
What's the first thing you, as a woman do, when you see another femme, dressing scantily? Even if you don't say something, your brain starts to recreate these subtle, malicious thoughts: "Who is she trying to impress?" or the most hurtful one: "She is so desperate! I'm glad I'm not in her shoes!"
You raise your eyebrows to see-through brassieres. Just think of the Oscar's, what was your reaction to Jennifer Lopez, wearing a 'malfunctioning' dress code, for her latest boy toy?
That auto-thought
Believe it or not there is this perfect harmonious thinking that make women categorize other women in their looks (sloppy), the way they work, or even behave.
"She is so childish!" Women's brains are set up to see, evaluate, smell, and even do mental comparisons. For some, who honestly admit it, is a load, that is carried along with the partner's credit card on a Saturday afternoon.
So, saying this, it seems natural to have this default setting for women to be catty and critical. Women criticize other women because of 'how' they feel about themselves. Just think about it: They want to know how other women rank, who is better, prettier, stronger, or slightly more successful. And if possible use harsh remarks to get there. And some might deny it. Shh! the auto-thought is preset.
You males set boundaries, now deal with us, little bastards! (moving that neck in circles)
"we weren't 'supposed' to break stuff, right Charles? Now you deal with our suppressed egos!"
Women had to live in this double standard society from birth. Why instead of Charlie's Angels. we could've had, 'Charlize's Demons'? Or go back and see, 'Wonder man' or Hugh Hefner along with other two old timers, massaging Sophia Vergara's... you know, back?
From generation to generation women had to 'choke' down anger, swallow up aggression and competition, only to have it leak out in a catty or passive-aggressive or critical ways (self-critical and to others). Unjust limitations, and lower wages than their 'Macho' counterparts fed a subconscious evaluation of things in real timing.
Psychologically, women got tired and frustrated. Somehow THEY began to develop this subtle thinking, that every choice someone else made was in direct challenge to theirs. The outlet for many was to humiliate their counterparts publicly in the name of 'social status.'
Conclusion
Women are unique, and deserve respect from us males. If they are 'Catty,' just step back a few inches and let them be. Is a human condition, and at least they are already taking our s## on Superbowl Sunday. This will hardly ever change. Unless, perhaps, however, we let them make more money, and give up (me, you, and our President) that joint Bank Account for them to manage with no restrictions at all. After all, women are needed. They are our moms, sisters, girlfriends and partners on this earth. End of discussion!
