Writing, a Choice and a Pleasure
Writing
The process of putting our thoughts, emotions and feelings into an article or 'hub.'
This is our mantra of writing and like Billybuc said it: there is not other way but writing from within. We have come a long way since we pushed our first 'Publish' on the night of July 7th 2011. Certainly we gave moderators some headaches and they were patience enough to let us know and grow. Thank you guys from behind the scenes!
History, by the day...
We are very thankful to our mother and our teachers that were there for us... trying to answer to our inquisitive minds, and with not google at hand for them. Can you imagine?
We can go back to Ur (4000 B.C.) in Iraq or better yet, to that Harappan or Indus Culture along with mohenjo-daro were founded around 2900 B.C. We can see ourselves this scribe from those times fixing up his tunic and ready to take account of the tax collecting, and eventually his King's idea for the season... but somewhere down the line he had a family and someone broke his heart. So he created the first fictional novel on his spare time.
We transport ourselves to any episode of history like... the time when our friend Jean Jacques Rousseau was on his way to Vincennes prison in 1749, to see the Encyclopedist Denis Diderot. All of a sudden he's got stricken with so many ideas at once that make him sit next to a tree. He just read an article about a contest for the 'Academie de Dijon.' His time and moment was there laid out for him at that instant... and so on! Liberty, Equality and even our own Constitution was born there...!
Our passions were laid out as well by people that came into our lives for a reason. Funny when we weigh our thoughts and finally put together some important events that evolved in our own eyes. At times unexplainable and hard to believe.
Math
It was the summer of 1975 (June 20). Jaws the movie premiered on that weekend and was one of the biggest blockbusters of that year. The 'Year of the cat' was around of the corner and Star Wars was set to film on Africa. But for a young boy math was already a headache. We barely did pass grammar school and began to hear stories from Junior High. The first monster was that 'Set Theory.' We were almost 13 years of age, and living already those scary moments from that everyday homework. Our dad jumped in the picture and got us a Tutor, who was a Civil Engineer for our luck. This guy broke down math like no one in front of us. You see how things were in our favor? We got lucky by being led in life? Getting emotional when writing right now; we feel compelled to thank our father for changing our lives at the right time.
Our Father, our Dad
We are where we come from, and this is so true! Dad was an avid reader and when he knew we wanted to read like him, he bought several sets of those famous books called encyclopedias. Names like Grolier, Britannica and extra Atlases of the world made our day. The colors and smell captured our desire to learn... and learn. Father died when we were 8 hours away from him. When we made it home, he was gone. Deep inside we made a very personal promise to ourselves and to him; we kept his legacy of knowledge and the thirst for more and more in the hope of mentally share with him our own discoveries. The seed was there and the need to write was instilled practically at birth.
Music and Poetry
We have that beat inside that keeps us going. We cannot live without music. Seriously! Is like a drug you need to have it by day, and by night. We grew up with Disco and those 80's. Every song and every melody made our day. From that Fifth Dimension, fly Robin fly!! straight to 'My Sharona,' stopping by Rod Stewart and 'da ya think I'm sexy?' Do the Hustle!! Music was... and still is part of our lives, like Maria Jordan, Epi, Martie, Vincent, Ardie, Kelly, Tammy, and so many will agree. Time, space and music defined our life and behaviour. Pump up the volume!!
How about the poetry? Is a legacy from our father. He would challenge us to find words for his weekend crossword puzzle. Little by little, we trained our brains to make some words rhyme... and the rest is history. Now, we do not considered ourselves math wizards. We had the right mentors at the right time. Maria Carey had a Soprano mom. Christina Aguilera had her mom as support. Charlize Theron had her mom as her biggest supporter, and you can name more stars that made it with a back up plan from... heaven?
Last train...?
Our first infatuation, our first broken heart...!
Final Thoughts
We are as normal as any one. If you see us on the streets, you wouldn't even recognize or better saying it this way: A mind, sometimes, do not match the body. Perhaps our inspirations come from those muses or that need to write. It is a pleasure yes! We get so many ideas at once, that more than often we need to stop our car, stop that laundry, or stop... or turn off that TV, just to grab a pen and write down that title or basic idea. We said it before, and you can take it as an advice: Work on your potentials and write about things you really know and love. Some never had a tutor, but took ballet or traveled all over. We write with our diverse background as support, and we feel at ease doing it. By the way, we never made a milestone hub, and we never did our 100th, 200th or almost 300th commemorative hub. So this one came right on time.
We want to thank to our Hubber friends, followers, and new amigos from all over the world. Wholeheartedly appreciated.
